Start a sketchbook exchange!
If it’s hard to get together with your friends to nature journal, why not try a sketchbook exchange?
During the lockdowns I joined 11 other botanical artists in nature journaling sketchbook exchange. The idea was that we would start a sketchbook each, featuring observations from the season around us. We would then send it on to the next person and receive a new book, complete a double page spread and send on.
This creates a helpful sense of discipline and it is exciting to receive these beautiful multicoloured works of art in the mail! Botanical art can be a solo activity, so it was really nice to have a collegial sense of working on a joint project with others.
