Kakabeak

Kakabeak

from $6.50

Clianthus maximus, the glory flower, our beautiful and critically endangered Kākābeak is named for those beautiful red flowers, which hang in clusters of 15-20 blooms and are shaped like the sharp beak of our native parrot . This particular cluster was observed in the Wellington Botanical gardens, by the Treehouse Visitor Centre, one of the largest and most spectacular specimens I have ever seen.

The original watercolour work was shown at Auckland Botanic Gardens in the exhibition FEAST YOUR EYES - the colour and beauty of edible plants,, running  Feb 14-March 14 2021.

Prints are taken from the original watercolour painting.  The image is printed with HDR Ultra Chrome lightfast inks on gorgeous 100% cotton archival quality 310gsm weight paper.  It is acid free and  lignin free  It will arrive flat in a cellophane sleeve, lovingly protected and backed with stiff cardboard.

If you are sending as a gift, please just let me know and I can include a personally inscribed gift tag at no extra cost.
